About Me

Hi! My name is Vanessa Kotob, and I'm very excited about helping you with your fitness journey!

I wasn't always into fitness or eating well. In fact, I started struggling with my weight at an early age. My mother is Italian and my father is Lebanese, so you can imagine the amount of delicious food me and my sisters were exposed to. By the time I was 14, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, and prescribed medication to prevent me from getting type II diabetes. I continued to gain weight through highschool and not be very active. My highest weight was around 275lbs.

At 19 I attempted to diet, and very severly restricted calories for about 3 months. I was miserable and my hair was starting to fall out due to such a lack of calories. I was able to get down to about 215 lbs, but quickly gained back 20lbs because the diet was not sustainable and I was bingeing peridically due to such restrictions with my diet. I stayed around 235lbs for most of 20's and was no longer pre-diabetic due to losing a little weight and maintaining it.

At 30 I had moved, bought my first condo, and joined a new gym. One of trainers there had approached me to compliment my routine, and asked if I wanted guidance with taking things to the next level. That was the start of a new journey, and my life began to change. I didnt want to restrict food groups, or only eat veggies. So I found something called "flexible dieting" where you can choose whatever you want to eat, as long as it fits into my total calories needed to lose 1-2lbs a week. I tracked what I ate, and had fun coming up with lower calorie recipes for all of my favorite meals. I came up with healthy snack recipes and desserts that I enjoyed, but were aligned with me losing weight. This didnt really feel like dieting at all. I felt like I could just keep eating this way forever. And thats the point.

Through consistent exercise, and consistent healthy eating, I have managed to stay at a healthy weight for me at around 175lbs (I'm 5'10) which means I actually lost 100lbs from my highest weight recorded! Ive now maintained this for about 5-6 years!

My mission here is to take everything I've learned, and show people that they can achieve anything they set their mind to. Guidance can go a very long way with a weight loss journey, and if I can get you organized, and give you the push needed to reach your goals, well that would be amazing!

So please consider hiring me to experience my knowledge and understanding with this, and help you take control of your life and feel fantastic!
